To minimize disturbance of existing mature trees, the site of an old double wide was reused. Using chalk lines the home was positioned to maximize solar gain before the foundation work began.

Proper design and construction reduces waste. This is the small amount of scrap lumber and OSB that was delivered to "Wood You Recycle". They will recycle the scrap lumber into pellet stove pellets.

This is the home's tankless condensing water heater. The home also has a condensing furnace. More than 94% efficienct, their water vapor exhaust condenses into water and very little heat is lost.
