This luncheon presentation and LEED CEU focuses on Silver Gardens approach to receiving a platinum LEED certification. The goal of the session is for attendees to walk away with ideas and strategies for obtaining points for certification of Homes; what worked, what didn’t, and the struggles/successes along the way. The session will provide beneficial information for developers, architects, engineers, contractors, property managers and consultants, and requires no prerequisite knowledge.
Learning Objectives:
• Know the practical differences between LEED NC (Phase I) and LEED for Homes (Phase II) certification.
• The LEED submittal process – what to look for.
• LEED challenges encountered during construction.
Panel Participants:
Theresa A. Bell, Romero Rose, LLC.
Theresa A. Bell is the owner/developer for Silver Gardens I & II. Silver Gardens is a multi- award winning project, receiving the prestigious Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Award and the EPA National Award for Smart Growth Achievement, to name a few. Theresa has over 20 years experience as a commercial real estate broker and developer and her company, Romero Rose, LLC, also manages a portfolio of approximately 145,000 sq. ft. of office space in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
Katey Kendrick
Katey was the Project Engineer for Silver Garden Phase II. She is well versed in the LEED NC and LEED for Homes administrative processes. She has worked on (1) LEED NC Gold certified and (2) LEED for Homes Platinum certified projects.
Ryan Moore, Environmental Dynamics, Inc.
Ryan was the LEED for Homes Green Rater and HERS Rater for Phase II. He also completed a post-construction HERS rating on Phase I. Ryan has extensive experience as a Green Rater on multifamily projects and is a BPI Multifamily Analyst as well.
