Dear USGBC Chapter Leader,  Green building is extremely important to sustainable health care, and we would like to invite architects, planners, and designers and builders with an interest in green building to participate as presentation faculty in our next CleanMed, the nation’s largest conference on sustainable health care.  CleanMed 2011 will be in Phoenix, AZ next April.   Could you include this presentation proposal announcement in your next publication or email to your membership?  Attached is hard copy.  Deadline is September 24 for receipt of proposals.  Thank you for helping us get the USGBC members involved in CleanMed!--Eileen

Planning has begun for CleanMed 2011

The Presentation Proposal Deadline is September 24, 2010!

Note: CleanMed 2011 will be held six weeks earlier than usual this year. Planning for the nation's
most important convention on sustainable health care has already begun.

We are now accepting Proposals for Presentations at CleanMed 2011.
If you have expertise in a sustainable health care topic, we invite you to submit your session proposal for consideration.

Suggested topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Executive buy-in and Leadership/Administrative/Culture change
  • Business case for sustainability/Budgeting/Measurements
  • Chemicals and toxins
  • Climate change/Clean energy/Green building
  • Greening by department (OR, purchasing, etc.)
  • Healthy food
  • International
  • Policy reform
  • Water conservation

The selection committee is interested in receiving proposals for content presented in a unique and/or creative way while providing new or different solutions, skill building, group problem solving sessions, and/or new methods of practice. Preference will be given to proposals that involve a hospital partner. Interactive and innovative presentation styles will receive preferential review. The subject matter must be of sufficient scope to meet continuing education objectives and deliver specific skills to be attained.

Proposals will be reviewed only if they are received by 11:59 p.m. EST on September 24, 2010.

As a benefit to approved speakers, conference registration fees will be reduced to half the early bird rate. All speakers, presenters, and poster authors are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.
