As a member, you’ll enjoy substantial moneysaving discounts, connect with a powerful and diverse network of professionals, participate in USGBC's Member Circles, gain access to the latest green building developments and information, and play an active role in green building policy-making. Q. I’m a member of my local chapter. Do I get discounts on USGBC products and services?

A. Chapters are a great place to find local green building resources, education and leadership opportunities. You will meet green building experts in your area, develop local green building strategies, tour green building projects and more. Chapter memberships come with local benefits only (no discounts on USGBC products).

Q. Our company has a membership. How do employees of the company access member resources and discounts on the website?

A. Our website is designed so that each individual employee has the ability to create their own user account linked to their company’s membership. When an organization joins, it is assigned its own unique access number, which we call the corporate ID. We recommend that all employees of member companies add their company’s corporate ID number to their personal USGBC user account. Doing so allows employees of member companies to gain members’-only access to the USGBC web site and to take advantage of members’-only discounts on offerings such as LEED workshops, publications, and LEED project registrations. To find out your organization’s corporate ID number, you can contact the primary contact person for your membership, or e-mail membership@usgbc.org

Q. What is the role of the primary contact for a membership?

A. The primary contact is the person who is going to receive all correspondence between the USGBC and the company regarding the membership. The primary contact’s user account is linked to specific information about the company. They have the ability to renew the membership online, edit company information, and view the employees currently using the membership. They also have the ability to vote in elections on behalf of the company. Primary contact changes can be e-mailed to membership@usgbc.org

Q. How do I participate in committees?

A. Committees are the heart of the Council's market-based green building programs. USGBC members influence change in all sectors of the building industry through active participation in Council committees. Committees meet via teleconference and occasionally in person. Members may join corresponding committees to receive meeting minutes from the core committees. You can join committees. For more information on committees of the USGBC go to “membership” under “Frequently asked Questions” on the national website.

Q. Where do I download the member logo?

A. The USGBC Member Logo is available online under the member resources page. You can find it at:

http://www.usgbc.org/DisplayPage.aspx?CMSPageID=106& after logging into the website. Be sure to download and review the communications guidelines!
